Valencia v Sevilla – Saturday 3:00 EST

By: Ryan | March 14th, 2008

I figuered I would toss up a quick post so the Che’s and Sevillistas have a place to post during the game.

So please come on over Valencia fans, mi casa es tu casa.

Things of note from the Sevilla side of the game:

Notable scratches

–Drago with an injury to his right leg.
Renato
Chevantón (But he practiced with the team this week and looks to be back soon)

The list of players for the Valencia tie are:

Palop, De Sanctis, Daniel, Mosquera, Lolo, Escudé, Adriano, Duda, Keita, Fazio, Maresca, Poulsen, Capel, Jesús Navas, Koné, Luis Fabiano, Kanouté y Alfaro.

So you will most likely see

Kanoute–LuFa

Capel–Keita–Poulsen–Navas

Adriano–Escude–Mosquera–Alves

Palop

– Eduardo Florido over at ‘Conexion Sevillista’ has a great article about the end of the most successful era in Sevilla’s history. I reported that Dani Alves first made this public in an interview with AS. I have to agre with Florido on this. But, you can’t win everything you throw your hat into. Unfortunately, we’ve been spoiled the last few years and now come to a reality check.

–Jose Maria del Nido takes to the podium again, spouting some more of his normal ‘golden quotes’. This time, he says that the coach of Sevilla is ‘Manolo Jimenez or Manolo Jimenez.’ I do know what he is getting at though. He wants to let the fans know that he is behind the coach, which is what the president of most Spanish clubs end up doing constantly.

Thats all I got. Lets here what everyone has to say!

Vamos mi Sevilla! Vamos campeón!

I hope this is not an end of an era. Sevilla still has alot to play for. CL next year.

Ryan I forgot to tell you that I enjoyed your comments on the Eduardo DaSilva injury at Arsenal. Spot on! It was horrendous. Something has to improve at the prem and quick.

Yeah, I think mainly it’s an end of a larger era, but we aren’t rolling over yet this season. There is still ALOT to play for and 11 weeks to do it.

Thanks for the spot about the comments. I just think Taylor should have known what the consequences are and those tackles need to stop. It’s how I got cut down and no one deserves to be challenged like that.
