So Much To Say…

Hola Sevillistas del Mundo!

It’s been 10 days since my last post, and I think this is the first time I’ve sat down in those 10 days. There’s been a wedding, 7 of my own football games, about 11 football games I’ve watched on TV, Ohio State v Michigan, all of the fun stuff going on, but I’ll never forget my Sevilla.

On that note, Lets get to all the things we’ve missed in the last week and a half.

–Sevilla started out with a 1-1 draw to CD Denia on November 13th. A goal by Chevantón (Thank God they actually let him play a bit) saw Sevilla take the lead, but a late goal by Denia, tied things up and that is how it would end. Some teams do have bad games in the Copa del Rey, so I took it with a grain of salt, EXCEPT that we were beat again by a dead ball opportunity that was headed in, much like in the Villarreal game.

–Diego Capel made it known that he has no plans to leave Sevilla and that he is very happy playing with the first team, and with the cantera system that brought him up in the first place.

–Luis Fabiano is still the Pichichi of La Liga this season with 8 goals.

–Jesus Navas signed with the club until 2012 and finally got the ‘big boy’ contract that he deserved. His contract was extended from 2009 on, when his original was set to expire. It didn’t mention anything about his ‘acute homesickness’ but with that problem being taken care of as we speak and with his play being exceptional this season (except for his scoring touch) there was no doubt to give him a new contract.

–According to Roman Abromavich, they will be going after Dani Alves with a renewed interest come the January transfer window. One of the only problems aside from the fact that they already through a truck load of money (33 million euros) at Sevilla and he didn’t leave, is that he won’t be able to play in the Champions League for Chelsea if he were to make the move to Stamford Bridge.

–Juande Ramos came out and squashed all of the rumors that he was going to pilladge the Sevilla team come January, saying that ‘no player in La Liga interests him’ Good, great, of course I can trust your word, just like you said you were going to stay in Sevilla until the end of the year. That’s a load off of my shoulders.

That’s about it with the recap for me. This weekend’s game is against Mallorca, who we should have no trouble with, God willing. I’m waiting to see how Sevilla respond from the time off, and to see if they can get their act together.

Good to see Navas finally get a decent contract. I want this kid in La Furia Roja asap. Do you think he can get it together for the Euros?

I hope Alves stays put, at least until the end of the season. This team has had enough of a shake up this year, but Del Nido can taste the money…

Beware of Mallorca, they are not a pushover team. It is going to be a great game this weekend!
