Sevilla v Barcelona — The Gang’s All Here

We are more than ready for this game. I’ve personally been waiting all week to see this game, only to get my shift switched at work and now I have to work 3:30 – 8:00 tonight. F’ That.
Bonus Points go to Jose Maria del Nido this week, stoking the fire between Sevilla and Barcelona with such quotes as
“Sólo cambiaría a Alves por Messi y 30 millones” (I’ll only trade Alves for Messi and 30 million”
“Para ganar al Barcelona hacen falta once buenos jugadores y nosotros tendremos a los mejores en el campo” (In order to beat Barcelona you have to have 11 good players and we have the best players on the field”)
Contactos? ¿Para qué? ¿Para vender a Daniel? Por favor, Alves no está en venta” (Contacts, For what? To sell Daniel (alves) Please, Alves isn’t for sale”
But the best out of the bunch is this gem from his interview with Mundo Deportivo:
Por tanto, que juegue mañana es clave. (Tomorrow’s game is very key)
(Look, no Barcelona player today would start for the Sevilla team that’s going to beat Barcelona this weekend)
¡Menuda frase! (That’s quite a statement)
Esto es así. Ninguno. (It is. No one).
Fittingly, Del Nido called the rest of the games we play this season ‘finals’ and that we have to move ‘three by three’.
The sevillista does speak the truth. Sevilla needs to move up the ranks quickly, and we need wins, not ties.
We’ve got the entire team back (more or less) for the first time since before the first Copa del Rey leg in January. I’m ready to see Kanouté back in the lineup, but I missed Keita more in the midfield.
I won’t even bother to talk about Barcelona’s state as you can simply hop on over to Isaiah’s preview to see what’s going on with the cules.
My prediction? I’m seeing Sevilla pull this one out 2-1. Who will score? I have no clue, I’m not a mind reader. I’ve given up guessing things as I pretty much gave the La Liga title to Real Madrid, who in turn lost to Almeria the next weekend.
Vamos mi Sevilla! Vamos campeon!

Ryan, you have conceded the league to Madrid? Wow! Del Nido is such a card, I love to hear Mr. Pompous talk. But he is one smart cookie and mad too. Certainly good news that the gang is all here or back now. I think you guys are going to take it to the Cules.

Hola.

Posted from
