Sevilla–Now Full of Barcelona Fans

By: Ryan | March 30th, 2008

After Barcelona’s loss/bitter defeat/epic breakdown at the hands of Betis last night AND Villarreal’s 3-0 win I’m sure Sevilla just picked up a few Barcelona fans while the cules now sit in 3rd place in La Liga.

A Sevilla win would make the blaugrana smile, that’s for sure, but not cure the sting that has to still be prevalent from that performance last night.

If you hop on over to The Real Madrid Offside, Corey has already done the preview. You can see everything about our white shirt wearing opponents over there, and also get a glimpse of what’s going on in our neck of the woods.

What I can tell you in the 5 minutes I have left before I get out of here to go to work is this.

Palop, De Sanctis, Daniel, Crespo, Fazio, David Prieto, Mosquera, Poulsen, Keita, Renato, Navas, De Mul, Adriano, Duda, Capel, Luis Fabiano, Koné y Kanouté.

These are the Sevillistas that will take to the Bernabeu in hopes of defeating the current La Liga champions. We have given the champs trouble as of late, with a win in the first part of this La Liga season (3-1 if I remember but that’s simply trying to pull the scoreline out of my ass).

Note we are without Escudé, Maresca (The Ram) and Drago. And we’ve brought up the youngster David Prieto to I’m sure see some playing time if need be at the end of this game.

So no more analyzing. Like all La Liga teams, we need every win we can get. Every game counts. Sevilla sit 2 points behind 5th place, but with a loss, we can find ourselves in 7th before the night is over.

Keys for Sevilla:

The defense to shore up in the back (NO MORE CRAPPY SET PIECE DEFENDING)
Luis Fabiano to take control of things up top and not disappear in this big game.
Keita and Poulsen to hold it down in the middle.
Capel to be a beast as he always is on the Left Wing.
Dani Alves to step his play up and get with it and to get some chemistry back with Jesus Navas.
Kanouté to snap out of whatever funk he is in. (If not, throw Koné in, why not??)

That’s it Sevillistas, I should actually catch the 2nd half of the game since I will be out of work at 4. If time allows, I’ll try to post some things during the game.

¡¡¡VAMOS MI SEVILLA!!! ¡VAMOS CAMPEÓN!
