Sevilla 4-3 Real MIERDA: “The better team won”
By: Anthony | December 7th, 2008
Dispite all the referee’s bias with his pro-Madrid, horrible calls, the better team still won proving that justice always prevails.
A total sidenote here for all viewers watching in North America on GolTV… Ray Hudson can take his CLEARLY OBVIOUS bias “Real can do no wrong” bullshit somewhere else. FUCK YOU RAY HUDSON, FUCK YOU. The better team won.
Rant over, back to the match.
We started brilliantly with Adriano scoring in the 3rd minute off a Casillas error from a perfect Navas cross. Real however managed to pull one back by of course getting a call that wasn’t correct and Guti set up Raúl to even the match at 1-1. It wasn’t long however before we started showing just how much better we are than Real. Navas exploited Marcelo’s lack of pace down the right flank and forced the Real man to come in hard and take out his legs. From the ensuing freekick, Renato hit perfectly weighted ball into the middle and dispite Gago trying to gain the advantage through some dirty play in the box, Romaric rose to the task, and headed it beyond the reach of Casillas. But the siege wasn’t over yet as Navarro burst up the left wing, put in a low cross only for Renato to strike it well but hit the two Real centrebacks and eventually bounce to Kanouté who slotted it away with ease in the bottom right corner, Casillas didn’t even move. So we went into the half with a 3-1 lead and not only that, but we absolutely dominated the first half. The second half however, started out a total different story. Los Blancos came out flying and eventually cracked our solid defence when Higuaín hit a cracker into the bottom left corner out of Palop’s reach. After that goal we just became de-moralised and really weren’t looking like the same Sevilla side that was present in the first 45, and as a result of this (combined with another horrible call) Gago was able to get on the end of a Guti setpiece and level the match at 3-3. The euphoria only lasted eight minutes however as Robben got his second yellow which resulted in a red and a sending off which now meant we were one man up and looking to turn the game around. To be quite honest I don’t agree with the call nor know what it was for but to be frank, I don’t care, Real were getting a bunch of rediculous calls all day and for one to finally go our way was refreshing to say the least. In the 85th minute Kanouté led the counter-attack, ran down Navas’ right flank, crossed the ball into the 6-yard box where Renato pounced and headed it perfectly past Casillas.
What bothers me is, why is Kanouté the one putting in the crosses? Why aren’t we getting that kind of service from Capel, Adriano, and Navas? If we could get better crosses in from the flanks Kanouté would have field day, he’d love it, I mean he towers over most defenders anyway, we really should be scoring more that way.
This game made me realise something today… Victory against Real feels amazing. Why you may ask? Well it’s like this. There are so many glory hunters in this world we live in, one of them just happens to be the commentator for the match, and the ref, and both linesmen. Dispite getting the benefit of the doubt 99% of the time Real was still beaten by Sevilla, yes, that small team from Andalucía, and this is why victory tastes that much sweeter.
This epic victory allows us to leapfrog Real into that fourth and final Champions League spot where we sit with 27 points, and only behind Valencia because of a worse goal differential. Next week we play Villarreal at home in which I see no reason we can’t come away with all three points. The yellow submarine are coming off a comeback 3-3 draw against Getafe in which they were down at one point 3-0 but thanks to some serious determination faught back to rescue a point. Won’t be easy by any means, but this victory against Real today will allow us to push on and do so.

Great Match. I enjoyed in every second of the game.

First off, it was an entertaining game. I’ve always enjoyed watching Sevilla vs Real Madrid.
However, I disagree that the referee was in our favor. Actually, there were two “clear” penalties which were not given. Also sending off Robben (which dramatically effected our performance) was a very bad and crazy decision from the referee.
What I’m trying to say is that, we played crap in the first half but we played incredibly well in the second well. Sevilla were just more effective. Thats football

That was an entertaining game no doubt. Kanoute is amazing at everything. If only he had the blazing speed of Fabiano then it would be game over eh?

You guys are up against Villarreal this weekend. Hopefully you will take all three points and separate yourselves even further from real madrid.
Good game though. Sevilla was playing an excellent game but they slipped up for a second and they let go of their 2 goal lead. At least you guys won the game, you really did deserve it.
And yes the commentators are biased in favor of real madrid. It can get extremely annoying. I think it was Hudson who kept saying things like “[Sevilla player] wouldn’t even be in the top 2 if he was at real madrid.” when he was talking about goals scored. We’ll see what kind of stupid crap they say when madrid plays against Barca.

Awesome game it was, free flowing end to end stuff. I was concerned when Sevilla lost their spark early in the second half, thinking it was gonna end up 4-3 real mierda’s way, but obviously it didnt. Anthony, you should give a whole lot of credit to Palop. That save he made from Raul’s shot 5 metres out was ridiculous and he kept our asses in the game.

Pro-Madrid bias? Did we watch the same game? The ref was miserable, but I really dont think he was bias towards us. A Robben red card surely dictates otherwise, along with a whole host of shotty decisions…

That was a fantastic match and I don’t say this because Real lost. When I saw that the game was 1-2 on Soccernet I just had to flip it on because I knew there would be a huge scoreline. I was supposed to be studying for a final but I was on the edge of my seat watching the game instead. Good effort by both teams

i cant agree more about ray hudson. i hate his guts. he is so pro-madrid it makes me sick but i laughed watching real lose, not only as a cule, but as ray hudson had to eat his words. he just makes it that much easier to hate RM.
excellent game for sevilla, i will always support you guys as long as you arwent playing barca.

whatever happened to “Ray Hudson is THE MAN” ?!
no wonder why i always agreed with him. but then again, if i weren’t a real fan then i’d probably blast him for his bias. i think even phil shoen senses it too.
anyways, i really don’t have much to say, obviously. but i’ll be the nice one [as real fans typically are] and say hats off to you. perseverance really pays off and it shows in a quality match.
but seriously, you still can’t underestimate us, man.
almost all of our top players that would match up to sevilla’s players [or even better] that were on the pitch yesterday are all on the medical list. and who do we have as back up?! players like MARCELO. wow. so all i can say is that just wait until 26/04/09. nothing’s more sweet than returning the favor at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.Posted from
