Sevilla 3 – Valencia 0–The pseudo recap and Quique is officially GONE! (Yes it’s true!)

By: Ryan | October 28th, 2007

(The absolute pinnacle of drinking songs in my opinion

All that matter is the chorus

Alcohol, Alcohol, Alcohol, Alcohol, Alcohol, hemos venido a emboracharnos, y el resultado nos da igual’

Basically, alcohol… we came to get drunk, and we don’t care what happens.’

Anyway, that was the song I was singing today with a few of my Sevillista friends when I found out that Manuel Jimenez led the Sevillistas to a 3-0 win against Valencia.

Not only did we lost Juande Ramos today, but we also put the nail in the coffin as Quique Flores was outsted as coach at Valencia.

This was on the front page of Marca

I only got to listen to the first half of the game on Cadena Ser while I was at the library, but it was evident we were all over Valencia from the get go. (Hopefully Oscar can fill everyone in on the nuts and bolts of the game)

Kanouté scored on 8 minutes thanks to a lackluster defensive play in the box by Valencia. Kanouté took advantage of the miscue and calmly slotted the ball past Hildebrand.

Poulson scored on a volley inside the box in the 74th minute. Good for him to get a goal for Sevilla after his hard work.

Luis Fabiano scored on a great series of passes in the 85th minute.

I’ll do a bit more of a recap tomorrow, time permitting, but I wanted to get the Quique news out there ASAP

Yep, no more Quique. Interesting to see what will happen next, I hope for La Liga’s sake they can manage to get Mourinho.
Glad to see Sevilla survive a potential crisis so nicely. Hopefully we will see something similar against Madrid in a few weeks.

No more Quique! Whoop there it is! As a Valencia fan, I applaud the way that you guys played today. It was really amazing and Juande’s leaving seems like it hasn’t affected you guys one bit

Oh man, don’t Valencia play Real mid-week? I hope they get their stuff together quickly then. What a time to sack your coach.

    1) No, or I quit writing this blog
    2) I wouldn’t mind that, Martin Jol, despite popular opinion is NOT a bad manager
    3) I dont know about that one, I’m thinking Mourinho ends up in italy next season.
