Sevilla – Real Madrid LiveBlog!!

By: Ryan | November 3rd, 2007

Forgot to put up a post for people to comment.

Sevilla 2-Real Madrid 0 at the half with an amazing goal by Keita!!!! Menudo Golazo!

Ray Hudson’s quote at the half about Keita’s goal ‘It’s sagacious…a goal so nice it’s fattening.’

What a legend.

I’ll Liveblog the second half

49 min Diego Capel is screwed on an offsides. He was clearly on.

50 min Sergio Ramos is sent off on a challenge from behind. It was questionable, but the ref has been off his form. Now Madrid are down to 10 men.

54 min ‘Toilet Bowl’ finishing as per Ray Hudson. Luis Fabiano blows an absolute sitter from 10 yards out as it was just him and Casillas. Luis Fabiano is good for at least 3 of these a game.

55 min Drago is given a yellow card for touching Robinho in the back as he fell down. Robinho didn’t even argue. This very well may turn into the Portugal-Netherlands game from the 2006 World Cup

57 min Torres is subbed in for Gago. It’s Torres’ 4th game in La Liga this year.

58 min Raul is booked on what looked to be a dive. Drago tugged on his shirt about 10 steps before he fell over. I thought the ref was wrong until I saw the replay. He got it right.

62 min It’s amazing how you notice such a substantial change when a team goes down to 10 min. This was a very entertaining game until Ramos was sent off unfairly. It does an injustice to the game.

62 min A great ball played to Jesus Navas who couldn’t find anyone in the middle to finish.

63 min Alvaro Izquierdo (the ref) has lost it. Capel is given a yellow card as he was clipped by Cannavaro. Capel was hit in the leg, fell over, then given a card for diving.
In case you are scoring at home, that is 4 yellow cards for Sevilla and 4 for Madrid

66 min Wow Manuel Jimenez is insane on the sideline. He’s like Rafa Benitez with all of the crazy hand gestures.

67 min Luis Fabiano misses high from 10 yards away again. I said he’s good for 3, and now we are at 2. Diego Capel is amazing.

69 min As Sevilla’s Centennial Hymn echoes though the Sanchez Pizjuan, Sevilla 2 – Real Madrid 0 Sevillista seré hasta la muerte…

71 min Raul is subbed out for Balboa

72 min Jesus Navas gets in behind the Madrid back line on the right side and plays a ball into the 6 for Kanouté. The ball is a bit behind him and Kanouté can’t finish. Iker Casillas looks stunned as to what’s going on.

83 min Yeah I forgot I was liveblogging. Real Madrid just can’t cope with being a man down. As I said earlier it’s a shame that Ramos got sent off anyway.
Guti gets a yellow on a challenge against Poulsen. Ray Hudson says ‘Why not?’

87 min Real Madrid have 0 shots in the second half.

Full Time Sevilla 2 – Real Madrid 0.

Real Madrid simply couldn’t recover from being a man down in the second half. The referree was horrendous and gave out yellow cards like candy. It was a shame the game had to play out like it did

When I get a video of the Keita goal, I’ll put it up. It is one of the goals of the year in La Liga. A side volley from about 30 yards out that had eyes for the top left corner. Menudo Golazo.

Cheers kids! And make sure to check out the Calzaghe-Kessler fight tonight, it’s going to be a good one.

Looks like a nice little run starting for your boys. With Ramos leaving and their form in question, Valencia and Real Madrid back-to-back could have been a nightmare, but even if you did get a lucky call on the red card, good solid performance. Get climbing up that La Liga table.

Yeah Sevilla definitely outclassed Madrid today. The first half was a beautiful clinic. Madrid this season has looked suspect and at last they come up against some solid competition and just can’t get it together. Congrats Ryan on a great win with style. Is it true that cry baby Kerzakhov wants to go back to Russia?

Yeah Kerzakhov is pretty much gone back to Russia come January. His clause said that he could only go back to Russia if he goes back to Zenit, and they are poised to win the Russian title if my knowledge of the Russian league serves me right.

What a goal by Keita! Seriously, though, the best I’ve seen so far in La Liga. I was watching live and when it dropped for him, I thought to myself, “this is going in” and, in concert with my screaming joy, it did. Wow.

Congrats on a good run. Sevilla is looking dangerous and I’ve glad we’ve played you guys already this half.
