amazing result. fantastic. we’ve gotta be turning heads at this point.

one thought/possible concern. what do you all think of manolo’s substitutions?

i found it weird that capel came on for adriano. why not for navas? that guy plays every minute of every match! he probably needs a bit of a break. and we know he’ll be starting again against real.

and the second sub was to bring on negredo. again, negredo is a probable starter for real, why not put kone in. i think acosta was nicked up so he wasnt available, but it just seems like we should be seizing opportunities to rest guys who just played and are about to play again. it will be interesting to monitor as the season goes on, but it could affect how fresh we remain down the road.

glad to see romaric back out there though. that was nice.

finally, i sort of hope negredo DOESNT score against real. remember, they can snatch him right back if they want to at the end of the season. i want him on sevilla permanently, not just to be taken back scoring goals AGAINST us and FOR madrid next season.

obviously, i still hope he scores a hat trick against real this weekend, but its just an interesting twist in the back of my head.

i had to work today and missed this match…but i just watched the highlights and i have to say we look nothing short of devastating on the attack. more results like this and europe will certainly be sitting up and noticing…

but i’m more pumped for sunday. bring on the merengues!!!

Haha, you’re not the only one, Anthony! I love Alvaro too, that rocket he hit against the top bar was Zidane-like (if only it had gone in!). I really hope he can start against Madrid on Sunday. Meanwhile, I’ll be rooting for Sevilla at Rangers tomorrow and have full confidence they’ll show the Gers what good football looks like.
