Noticias Del Día–MARCA Can Stick It, Ramos Turns Back Time, Another Canterano
By: Ryan | November 10th, 2007I write this while I watch the MLS Western Conference Championship. And I have to say, watching a football game played on an American Football pitch is not right. These guys deserve to play on a proper pitch.
Anyway, as Frank Costanza said during the airing of grievances I got a lot of problems with you people! And now, you’re gonna hear about it
—Marca can stick it where the sun doesn’t shine. I wrote about this over at my other blog, The Other Football, but really, sometimes rivalries are not meant for the national media. When Marca wrote about Sevilla being ranked 6th out
of the European Teams, you would think it would be considered to be a great accomplishment. However, Marca took to it’s Madridista ways and added in this great final paragraph.
So you remember, Sevilla accumulated three victories against ‘easy’ (basically walkover) teams, like Steaua, twice, and Slavia Prague, even though they lost against a competent team like Arsenal, who convincingly beat them 3-0 in England.
What a piece of junk Marca is. Really? Thanks for telling me Sevilla beat some walkover teams. It’s obviously Sevilla’s fault that they got placed in such a shit group in the Champions League, it really is. What crap.
Go to my other site if you want to see the complete rant.
–UEFA.com is going to air a four-part interview with Juande Ramos about his time in Sevilla. I look forward to hearing what he says about why he left the club, and what his favorite moments are in Sevilla history.
–Sevilla released it’s list of players for the clash against 3rd place Villarreal on Sunday night.
Palop, Dragutinovic, Daniel, Adriano, Jesús Navas, Poulsen, Kerzhakov, Luis Fabiano, Renato, Kanouté, De Sanctis, Mosquera, Diego Capel , Martí, Keita, Koné, Boulahrouz y Casado.
Yup, that the third new player that Sevilla have brought up in as many weeks. The newbie is Casado, and I’m waiting to hear back on what his deal is from a few friends of mine. According to the Sevilla page, he’s 21 and came from FC Barcelona C in 2006. Boulahrouz is now back with the team, and so is Kerzhakov.
Sevilla’s Youth Squad is one of the most respected in the country, and I think, the world The youth side has brought up Sergio Ramos and the gitano himself, Jose Antonio Reyes just to name a few. Even on this Sevilla squad, the Cantera has brought up the likes of Fazio, Diego Capel, Crespo, Lolo and now Casado. This is going to be our savior come the January transfer window (don’t worry, I’ll have a long post on that in the next few days)
Sunday’s game looks to be a tough fight against the Yellow Submarine. Even Pelligrini, Villarreal’s manager, said that Sevilla have ‘found their football’.
We’ll see if they found their football after the game Sunday night.

Dont forget Alfaro, and Puerta (god rest his sould) and Fazio was paid for before he got into the cantera, so he doesnt count, but other then that, an impressive youth set up.
