So over the break thus far there have been some notable things going on in Nervión, from rumours, to call-ups, and everything inbetween.
News:
The annual Sevilla Christmas dinner was held and in attendance were President José Maria del Nido, Monchi, other members of the board, and the local Sevilla council. This year the dinner was not just about celebrating though, but addressing an issue. Last week we were knocked out of the UEFA Cup by Sampdoria which ended our chance of winning it for the third time in four years. El Presidente spoke about this and said “It is like the old Russian proverb, there will be falls, but you must get up”. It was obvious that del Nido was defending Jiménez and the squad but maybe rightfully so, too much pressure could see our fairly good league form start to diminish and it is crucial to qualify for the Champions League, so any slip-ups, especially with the league table being as tight as it is this season, could be dangerous. Monchi also then came out and said that we can look forward to a very bright future for Sevilla which makes me wonder what tricks he has up his sleeve, or if he’s just saying that to try and cover up the UEFA Cup upset.
Today the national team manager, Mr. del Bosque himself, said that Jesús Navas will for the first time in his career, be called up to the Spanish Men’s National team to play in a friendly against England on February 11th. For those of you who don’t know much about Jesús, he suffers from severe homesickness and this has affected his international career because everytime he travels abroad he becomes terrible ill. It is obvious that Navas is by far one of the best right-wingers in Spain and possibly one of the future stars of La Furia Roja, so del Bosque felt the need to try and introduce him into the lineup as soon as possible. What helps is that this friendly against England will be played in Sevilla at El Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán and this being his home will need no adjusting and hopefully he will be able to get some minutes and show Vicente why he is needed for Spain. Del Bosque said that Capel will also most likely be included in the lineup that takes on the Three Lions and I’m really excited to see that we possess possibly both the future Spanish national starting wingers. Maybe there is a very bright future ahead for us in Nervión.
Rumours:
As I mentioned in my previous post, it is being widely reported that the all Russian English club, Chelsea are prepared to bid €20m in the upcoming January transfer window. Although I am 100% certain this deal will never happen, it is always scary to see the big clubs coming in for our players, money has truly ruined the beautiful game.
I hope everyone had a good Christmas and holiday season and are looking forward to when La Liga resumes on January 4th, I know I am. But until then…
¡¡Vamos mi Sevilla
Vamos Campeón!!

I respond by not saying anything at all. It is obviously out of anger that Sevilla is on the up while Real Mierda is going down. All I can say is “Julian, is my blog really a joke or should you be referring to your team?”
