Is this a joke?

So much for my over-confidence yesterday as we got handed a embaressing 1-0 defeat to SD Ponferradina. We started extremely slow in the first half as SDP dominated posession and shots on target although no real chances were created. In the second half both teams came out flying and also both created a few opportunities but once again, no goals to show for it. SD Ponferradina scored one in the 90th minute to sink the hearts of my beloved Sevilla and the small section of travelling fans that made the trip up north to León. Thank God this is a 2 legged affair and when we play them back in El Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán we should obviously take the encounter more seriously and smash them.

The problem today was the constant use of long balls which never worked, not to mention a lineup comprised of quite a few Sevilla Atlético players, a couple rarely featured ones such as Tom De Mul, and the few randoms that are usually in the starting XI. The chemistry was not there what so ever, and it really showed when we got outplayed and outscored by a Segunda B team…

They do say, when there is a negative situation, it’s always good to assess the positives and tonight there is only one thing that can cheer me and my fellow Sevillistas up… Poli Ejido absolutely thrashed Villareal 5-0, other than this, Jiménez and the boys should seriously sit down and be disgusted with themselves as today’s game was a complete joke.

This loss today means we are currently on a 2 game losing streak from a few days ago when it seemed like we would go undefeated all season, we have now lost to a newly promoted team and a Segunda B side, extremely embaressing! We now have to look forward to the game on Sunday when we travel to Valladolid and look to get back onto a hopefully long winning streak.
