Goal Fest!!

By: Anthony | September 15th, 2008

Sevilla ended their second game of the season with a 4-3 victory, and did it in style. Not without a few difficulties though…

By the 20 minute mark Mate Bilic had scored 2 goals to put Sporting up 2-0, at this point i really did feel like it was over, especially considering how easily Bilic and Castro were walking through our defence. But 2 minutes later Chevanton (yes Cheva!!) put his head on a Navas cross and pulled us back into the game. In the 36th minute, the Sporting defence gave up a throw, only to be caught lazily half way up field, leaving Maresca flying down the wing to catch up to Capel’s through and easily put it across goal for Kanoute to tap in. As if this wasn’t enough excitement, right after the kick off Kanoute became proviver as he stole the ball from Sporting, passed it off to Maresca, and BOOM, left foot, bottom right corner out of the keepers reach. Just as we thought the momentum was flowing our way, Squillaci fouled Mate Bilic in the box to give up a penalty (yes, 2 penalties in as many games…). Bilic converted a beautiful shot and they went into the half tied at 3.

At the half Fabiano came on for Chevanton, and Romaric for the shaky David Prieto, and pushing Fazio back to centre-back. Fabiano had an instant impact as in the 60th minute, he gave Romaric a neat little back-heel, and Romaric hit a bullet only for the keeper to fumble, and who else but Kanoute to be there to tap the ball into the net and put us up once again, 4-3.

This time however, unlike the last time we were up, would stay this way, and the game did end as a 4-3 victory for Sevilla.

We now sit fourth in the table, behind Espanyol, the only team with 6 points, and Valencia, as well as Almeria, who both have 4 points.

Sevilla will now face RB Salzburg in our first UEFA Cup match on Thursday, and then El Derbi against Betis takes place on Sunday.

Just downloaded the game. Can’t wait to watch it! All the press in Spain talks about is how fragile our defense is. How did you see it??

Rical, I have Spanish satellite so therefore I get many channels in Spain such as TVE, CanalSur, TV3 Catalunya, etc… That is how I see many of the games, although from time to time a game will be showing on a station I do not have and therefore i watch the game online.

A good site is http://www.myp2p.eu, they usually have multiple links for a single game.

Since tomorrow’s match against RB Salzburg in the UEFA cup won’t be on TV, I will be using that site.

Hi! Just a couple of notes:

    - Were you able to watch the Sevilla – Salzburg game??

    - Hopefully this weekend I’ll be able to see the Sevilla – Sporting game (it gets complicated with family and kids on school week nights!)

    - Sevilla Bayamon FC (of the Puerto Rico Soccer League) is still on first place with three games remaining. This Sunday they play the bottom dwellers, so we should stay comfortably on top!

    - Thanks for the link. I’ll have to use it thsi Sunday for the derby. GolTV will transmit it on delay at 5:00pm. Bummer!

    Take care!

I was actually not able to watch it. Surprisingly no one was broadcasting it. At least they won, and it was good to see Capel score…

Another good site it http://www.rojadirecta.com, check it out on game days if you haven’t already before.

Every week i check the prsoccer website to check if Sevilla Bayamon is still in first, i do not watch them because i cant find any online links, but its more of a sense of pride being a Sevillista.

Hopefully you see the game this weekend, don’t always settle for the first link you find, some of them are really bad chinese tv quality, so log on about 30 minutes before the game and look for a good link.

Hopefully this all was of some help !
