this seems like a more gossipy source than goal.com, but this puts the two together. though it also says it isn't terribly likely.

btw. is there an actual discussion board on this site as opposed to just comments on blog posts?

this one didn't mention the possibility of a navarro swap, another one did.

http://www.goal.com/en/news/1708/ac-milan/2009/01/14/1060423/milan-fighting-off-sevilla-for-pennant-deal

but it talks about pennant. i agree. i don't put much weight in the gossip. but when there isn't much else to talk about, its entertaining.

the de mul and mosquera stuff is interesting in terms of revenue for the team, but not really for this current year or how it is currently constituted.

Pennant for Navarro??? Where did you hear that?? Even in Sevilla that hasn't been mentioned!!! Just pure gossip to fill out space, in my opinion. Sounds like the one from last year, Roberto Gomez (from Marca) in Spain was sure that Navas was going to Liverpool. He would practice in Sevilla, to be with his family, and play over the weekend with Liverpool!! What a bunch of BS!!!

What is hot is that De Mul is being loaned to Genk in Belgium, and that Mosquera might end up in River Plate.

Saludos!!

answered my own questions: games are the next two weeks (three in fact counting the first tie of the following round, should we pass through). wow. no repose. guess its good to play valencia twice while our liga schedule is on the less difficult side.

and again that just makes it that much more critical to have chevanton back. any word on acosta?

and have any of you heard the rumors that sevilla is after Pennant at liverpool but might have to give up on Navaro? mixed feelings. Pennant has been a behavior concern most places he's played at, navaro has been a pro. but we'll see.

wow didn't realize he misses two games. thats a bit rough. so he'll miss both the games against valencia? tough matchup. i'll admit i was hoping for something more along the lines of espanyol or valladolid. but we're in good enough form now we should be ok.

as for a live thread, that'd be fun. i couldnt come too consistently but id stop by.

looking ahead the next five games for sevilla are VERY winnable. i cant pick out a single one right now where i'd be content with a tie. Numancia (H), Racing (H), Gijon (A), Betis (H), Espnayol (A)... i still think of racing as a tough team, but going by the standings the toughest of those games will likely be against the freshmen Gijon, who probably aren't too intimidated by us after the barnburner 4-3 win we had at home. we'll see.

anyone know where those copa del rey games slot in?

Aaron, if you like I can set up a comments page during the match like they do over at the Barça Offside and we can discuss the match while it's being played. Just a suggestion, let me know if you're interested.

No probs SRH, some of the streams lag a bit but hey, it's better than nothing.

I've always loved Cheva, I think he's fantastic to have come off the bench and is always dangerous when near goal. And like you said, it'll be good to give Freddie and Luis a break once in a while, maybe even this weekend against Numancia considering they've both played almost 3 full games in less than a week.

Palop's red is more than frustrating, but it ended up being worth it I guess. Sure, he'll be suspended for two matches but Javi Varas is a very talented goalkeeper with a lot of potential, he was world class in pre-season and it'll be good for him to get some time now. Also it's always good to keep a clean sheet and even though it came at a price, at least it was done.

You're right, two of our goals were gifts but hey, it's not like we didn't work for them, Fabiano had the determination to pressure the defense into giving up those balls and like you said, at any time of they game we could have easily snatched another goal or two!!

just wanna say that i watched the game on rojadirecta and it worked fantastically. thanks for the tip!

i think chevanton coming back is HUGE. people have been pissed about us playing with one striker but we've had so few options. and both fabiano and kanoute have been banged up. so a third legitimate striker is gonna be a really big deal for giving those front two rests from time to time, such as in the copa del rey...

frustrating about the red to palop. so he'll miss the first game of the next round then? sure he could use the rest too and javi varas should be fine for a match.

impressive win, though we should remember that two of those were garbage gift goals. even still we dominated and controlled the game, and if we had really wanted im sure we could have pressed the issue and gotten some more goals. great game!
