Club or Country?
By: Anthony | September 11th, 2008Earlier this week the official UEFA cup jerseys were presented ahead of of upcoming clash with Red Bull Salzburg. Besides having the obvious Sevilla emblem on it, they all also seem to have a Spanish flag, or yellow and red lines representing the Spanish flag.

This brings about my debate… I really have mixed feelings over this whole thing, I mean, are we Sevilla, or are we Spain?
These flags have nothing to do with Sevilla or our colours. Personally I do not believe that we represent anyone except Sevilla. Not Andalucia, not Spain, Sevilla. Why are we imposing politics on football? Red and White are the only colours we should be seeing. We should forget about all these ideologies and just support Sevilla for Sevilla, nothing more.
Red and White, White and Red, ROJIBLANCO. Is it that hard to understand really?
Am I over reacting to this whole thing? It’s a matter of pride, after all it’s “Sevilla hasta la muerte”.
The pictures are there, judge for yourself.

It’s just because it is the UEFA competition and when you are there you represent not only your club but your country as well.
Like last year’s champions leauge kit which was the black one with the cross going down and across the front of the kit. Those were some sick jereseys
I personally like the blue one better, but we’ll see.

Good post! I really agree with you. Get rid of any signs of nationalism/politics in football. It’s all about Sevilla FC and their colors red and white. If they feel a need to mix things up once in a while, I have no problem with a single new color, as long as it’s only there for a season on one or two of the alternative shirts, being their third in the league or second in Europe.
